class 17: how to castrate a church
why stop the prayer time?
it’s what we learned in class 3–distract them. start a false emergency. get a neighbor to complain–
lickilog, you miss the point!
but I studied–
you don’t have to stop the prayer time.
i thought prayer was the worst–
not all prayer
you had too many after dinner milks–
impertinence! save that for humans.
tell me, o professor ducksnub, why not stop the prayer time?
what did they pray last time?
foe’s blessing.
did he bless?
well, i guess– i suppose–
did foe bless the outreach? Did it make a difference?
they had fun. a crowd came–
was it blessed? did the prayer work?
[lickilog speechless]
answer!
i don’t know.
why are they doing the outreach in the first place?
[speechless again]
did foe give them the idea?
why, no. they got the idea from the city ministry.
did foe bless them?
a few in the crowd questioned their lifestyles. by the end of the week we diverted them, even more intrenched in deception than before.
always individuals to watch for–i’ll get to that. But overall, did foe bless the outreach?
well, no. we still have our stronghold in that neighborhood. beneath the masks they still believe foe would never accept them. the church never found us out. the porn shop’s still there.
never forget, lickilog, if the prayer’s only ritual, only talking, not listening, not threatening our stronghold, don’t waste energy stopping it. keep them pacified doing good but impotent things.
[again, lickilog speechless]
the danger comes when they take time to listen to foe’s heart. if they follow his direction–abominable! so distract them. keep them busy, working hard, trying to keep up with the other churches. let them give away free sodas and invites to the church, and pray for blessing. but never, never let them wait for foe’s direction. and never, never let them pray in tune with foe’s plan for routing our stronghold!
they don’t do that. so relax during the outreach?
[slap!]
what was that for!?!?
you told me you studied!
i did!
then what about bill and marcy?
bill and marcy?
yes! you’ve had this assignment over a month. haven’t you noticed bill and marcy?
that old couple? sits in the back passing gum to kids? harmless.
harmless! where are they on friday nights?
[red-faced, lickilog stood speechless again]
west street church.
[lickilog's jaw dropped]
why did our stronghold at west street fall?
that was before i–
do your history, lickilog! that preacher started listening to foe! he won’t do anything without foe’s word, and what he does excoriates us! he’s contaminating bill and marcy.
[speechless]
get out. i won’t see you again without a plan for bill and marcy.
